Count yourself in!

Count yourself in!

At our Easter Sunday meeting we revisited the account of Jesus’ resurrection and focussed on some powerful words that often get overlooked.

Without Jesus’ cry of “It is finished!” and the angel’s words, “He is not here, for he has risen” there would be no Easter story.
But without Jesus’ words to his disciples when He appeared to them in a room after His resurrection, His perfect sacrifice would have been of no consequence.

What did Jesus say that was of such significance?

“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” John 20:21

Without those sent to proclaim and to demonstrate that Jesus is alive the world would be unchanged by the cross.

In the Old Testament God handpicked an anointed leader for each season to point people to God.

As a result of Jesus’ death and resurrection God’s promise was this:
‘And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.’ Joel 2:28

For Jesus’ church to fulfil the call of God it requires that every believer counts themselves in – as anointed by God – so that within our spheres of influence people know that Jesus is alive and that He is the way, the truth and the life.

I encourage you to memorise John 20:21 and to ask God how you can partner in His Kingdom purposes.
