04 Jan Pastors’ Update
As we start 2016 it’s a great opportunity to reflect on the year that has passed and to ask God to envision us for the year to come.
For each of us 2015 will have been a mixture of highs and lows; a mixture of joy and sadness; a mixture of blessings and challenges.
Whether last year was all that we wanted it to be or not we have the amazing assurance that God is a good Father who loves us unconditionally, who always has the best for us and will never give up on us.
I would encourage us to spend some time at the start of this new year to allow God to minister into the challenges of the past year so that we get His perspective on them and don’t allow disappointment, bitterness or resentment to take root and impact on the new year that lies ahead of us.
I believe that God wants us to step into 2016 with an eager anticipation of what He is going to do in us and through us.
I want to live each day expecting the best and not dreading the worst. After all that is the inheritance that we have as children of God.
In Psalm 71:14 it says:
‘As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.’
In Isaiah 40: 31 it says:
‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’
Andy and I pray that this coming year will be a year in which you encounter the goodness of God in increasing measure and enter into every blessing that He has for you.
With every blessing
Jane Robb
